A large share of public electrical work reaches contractors through general contractors rather than directly. Primes bidding building projects need electrical pricing during the bid period, which means the useful moment to make contact is when a project advertises — not after award.
Seeing solicitations early therefore matters even for subs. A contractor who knows a hospital renovation advertised on Monday can call the primes likely to bid it on Tuesday, rather than hearing about it from a supplier three weeks later.
